Sr. Database Architecture Engineer:
For a research, development and marketing company of high performance and high available middleware (Parallel Computers Technology, Inc., King of Prussia, PA), provide technical support for company products, including product testing, bug fixes, documentation and new feature developments; research and development of new products; mission-critical client technical support, including on-site/remote installations of DBX™ and DSLB™ software, architectural consulting, performance analysis/optimization, application analysis/re-engineering; overall solution development, testing, and system monitoring and maintenance procedure development; install, update, and patch operating system and database systems; react and resolve database-related warning and alarms; provide database backup and recovery strategy and operations; tune database parameters for optimal performance while maintaining “cloned” and replicated database systems for testing and quality assurance purposes; manage storage and capacity planning from the object level to the database file level; provide trend analysis to the service management team; escalate and manage problems to resolution as appropriate.
Requirements
1. Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Computer Information & Sciences or a related field.
2. Research experience in database clustering and parallel processing methods. Experience can be gained while pursuing degree.
3. Proficiency in DBX™, MS SQL Server, Oracle, EMC storage cluster and double-take and parallel transaction processing methods.
Hours: 40 per week - Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
